However, the highest lumen rating is not always the best choice. In outdoor projects, thermal management, optical design, and driving current must match the LED chip characteristics.
Chip selection and system efficiency
A quality solar street light requires the LED chip, driver, and controller to work as a complete system. For example, a high-performance 3030 LED package may deliver excellent brightness, but without proper heat dissipation, its lifespan can decrease significantly.

Chip quality matters. A poor-quality LED may show lumen depreciation, color shift, or inconsistent performance after long outdoor exposure. The wrong chip can create unexpected maintenence costs even when the initial product price looks attractive.
