Reputation shifts.
No factory stays at the top simply because its catalog looks impressive, because in the LED street lighting business, where projects last for years and warranty claims reveal the truth long after installation, credibility is earned through consistency rather than advertising.
Numbers Tell Stories
A distributor I worked with once compared three suppliers for a fictional 1,800-unit municipal project. Factory A quoted the lowest price. Factory B used Mean Well drivers with Lumileds 5050 LEDs. Factory C offered similar specifications but weaker documentation.
Eighteen months later, the recorded maintenance rates were 1.2%, 0.6%, and 4.9%.
Quite revealing.
What Buyers Actually Remember
Is a famous brand automatically the safest choice?
I don't think so!
Experienced buyers usually remember how a factory handled design revisions, shipment delays, replacement parts, and photometric reports—not how attractive its brochure appeared. A supplier that answers technical questions with real engineering data often leaves a stronger impression than one offering dozens of product models.
Beyond the Name
Manufacturers such as likelite, Signify, Inventronics, and OSRAM occupy different positions within the outdoor lighting ecosystem, yet reputation depends on whether their solutions match the project requirements instead of simply carrying recognizable names.
One final detail. I once noticed a specification sheet that spelled "performance" as "performence." Funny little typo, perhaps, but reliable factories usually pay attention to details long before the shipment reaches the customer.
Look forward to working with us in future.
